How it is made
Oranges are squeezed and the juice is bottled without being boiled down to a concentrate and rebuilt with water later. That is the whole difference between this and most of what sits in a chiller. Nothing is stripped out and nothing is put back, so the pulp settles, the colour is never twice the same, and the taste follows the fruit rather than a fixed recipe.
How it tastes
Bright and clean, sweet first with a tart edge underneath it. Oranges lose acidity as they ripen, so a juice pressed early in the season reads sharper and one pressed late reads rounder and sweeter. Straight juice carries all of that, rather than averaging it out.
Good to know
Orange juice is one of the few juices that is almost always drunk as itself, undiluted and unmixed. The fruit it comes from is a hybrid, a cross between pomelo and mandarin, and every orange grown anywhere descends from that same cross. It is also one of the shortest-lived juices there is: the flavour begins to fade within days of pressing, which is why fresh juice is bottled in small volumes rather than large ones.
