Your own website, connected

Some venues have their own website, made by a designer. It can work with BiteTheMenu. You post a show here once, and your website shows it too.

The rule

You post events in one place. Your website and your BiteTheMenu pages show the same thing.

How it works

  1. Events. You add a show in What’s On, with a date, a time, a photo and a few lines. The next time your website is updated, it shows the same show. You do not type it twice.
  2. Visits. Your website counts its visits. You see them in Your pages, on Channel analytics. These rows start with Your website, for example Your website: event pages. Your AI can read them too. You can ask it “Which page did people open most this week?”
  3. Requests. A guest asks for a private event on your website. The request comes to Event bookings, like a request from your event form. You get the same alert.
  4. Words your AI can change. Your website has a few places your AI may change, for example the line at the top or a small notice. Ask Dani: “Put a notice that we are closed on Monday.” You see the change before it goes live. Ask her to take it away, and your website shows its own words again.

Good to know

  • We switch it on for you. Your website must be on our list first. Other websites cannot send visits or requests in your name.
  • It is on paid plans. It uses your What’s On page and your event inbox.
  • We count visits, not people. There is no cookie and no name. We count how long people stay and which buttons they press.
  • Events show in a few minutes. When your website is set up for it, a change in What’s on updates your website by itself, about two minutes after your last edit. Words your AI changes show in about a minute.
  • Changes to the menu do not update your website. Only events do. Your website links to your menu, so the menu is always new.
  • Your AI can change only those places. It cannot move sections or change the design. Your web designer chooses the places.
