Projects — grouping dishes by occasion
A project is the answer to “let’s look at these six dishes together.”
The rule
It’s not a category and it’s not a status — it’s a folder for a moment. When the moment passes, mark it completed or archive it, and a new one takes its place.
Creating one
Click + New project in the dashboard strip, name it (Lunch Menu August 2026, Delivery Special Group), pick one of seven colours, create. It appears on the dashboard immediately, and its colour becomes a chip on every dish inside it.
Adding dishes
Two ways:
- From the project — open it, click + Add candidates. Search by title, filter by category, tick what you want, add up to fifty at once. It tells you how many were added and how many were already there.
- From a candidate — its Projects section has a + Add to a project… box. Start typing, pick, done.
A dish can sit in several projects at once. The same Cacio e Pepe can be in Lunch Menu August, Heritage Pasta Showcase and Delivery Special — the chips appear side by side.
Removing
Hover a card on the project page and click the X, or click the X on the project chip from the candidate itself. Either way it’s a soft remove: the dish stays in the inbox, only the membership goes.
The project page
Click a project card and you get its own page: the name (click to rename), a description for team context, the colour swatch, and two actions — Mark completed when it shipped, Archive when you’re shelving it.
The body is the same Grid / List / Kanban toggle as the inbox, scoped to this project’s dishes.
Good to know
- Adding a dish bumps the project’s last-updated time, so active projects rank higher and quiet ones sink.
- A completed project keeps its dishes visible; archived ones hide from the strip but the See all link has tabs for every status.
- Every card also shows its recipe category chip.
