Table ordering with QR codes

Guests at table 7 scan the code on their table, browse your menu, and send an order that arrives labelled Table 7. They can also tap Call waiter or Bill please without ordering anything. You need no till and no extra hardware — a phone or tablet to watch the orders is enough.

The rule

Each table’s code is different. Never photocopy one card for the whole room, or every table’s orders arrive as the same table.

How it works

  1. Turn on Table ordering in Settings → Ordering & delivery.
  2. Add your tables just below — use the names your staff already say out loud: 7, Patio 3, Bar 2.
  3. Open Print table QR codes, pick a floor, and print. Cut the cards and put each one on the table whose number it shows.
  4. Watch Tables in the sidebar. Each seated table gets a card with its orders and anything it has asked for. Tap Accept on an order, Done on a request, and Close table when the guests leave.

Everyone sitting at the table sees the same running order, so nobody orders the same bottle of Chianti twice.

Good to know

  • You do not need a WhatsApp number for this — that is only for takeaway and delivery orders.
  • Closing a table is what ends it. If staff forget, it closes itself after 3 hours of quiet, or when you stop serving for the day.
  • Guests don’t have to give a name or phone number. The table is who they are.
  • Choose whether a scan can order straight away (best for cafés and bars) or whether staff open the table first (slower, but a photographed code is then useless).
  • Make a new code on any card if a code gets copied or shared. Every printed card for that table stops working, so print a fresh one.
