Which features show in your menu

Your venue subscribes to a set of tools — a public menu, a point-of-sale, inventory, recipes, the marketing suite, and so on. The left-hand menu only shows the ones you’re actually signed up for. If a section isn’t there, your venue isn’t subscribed to it yet.

The rule

The side menu reflects what your venue is subscribed to. No subscription, no menu entry — for everyone on the team, including the platform team viewing your venue.

How it works

  1. Your subscription is set by the BiteTheMenu team (or by the plan you’re on) — you can’t switch a tool on or off yourself.
  2. Each menu section is tied to a service: Kitchen display needs the kitchen-display service, everything under Growth needs the marketing service, the point-of-sale screens need the POS service, and so on.
  3. When a service is active, its menu entries appear. When it isn’t, they’re hidden and a whole section drops out if none of its tools are active.
  4. Turning a service off doesn’t just hide the buttons — the tools behind it stop working too, so nothing runs up a bill you didn’t sign up for.

Good to know

  • A few core entries — Dashboard, Settings, Customers, Messages — always show, whatever your plan.
  • The same rule shapes Settings → Service status (it lists only what’s included, with no upgrade buttons — your monthly plan defines features and credits) and Settings → Roles & permissions (you only see permission groups for services you have).
  • Some tools depend on others: recipes need inventory, kitchen displays need the point-of-sale. Subscribing to one automatically includes what it needs.
  • Trials count as active for as long as the trial runs, then the entries disappear again.
  • To change what’s included, ask the BiteTheMenu team about your plan.
