Your own AI agent — your assistant, your venue

You can use your own AI assistant, like ChatGPT or Claude, with your venues. You ask a question in the chat. It looks up the answer here. You add no bot, and it uses no credits.

It can look things up. It can also ask for a change. Nothing changes until you approve it. It only sees what you can see in the admin.

How it works

Open AI → API & connectors. The Connect tab shows each step.

ChatGPT or Claude (no key):

  1. Press Copy link.
  2. In ChatGPT or Claude, add a custom connector and paste the link. Pick ChatGPT or Claude on the page to see the steps for your app.
  3. Our sign-in page opens. Choose All my venues or Only one venue. Only one venue is chosen at the start. Press Allow.
  4. Ask a question, for example “Which dishes have burrata?”

Cursor, a Google Sheet or your own program (with a key):

  1. Open the Keys tab and press Create a key. Give it a name.
  2. Copy the key now. We show it one time.
  3. In your app, paste the link and the key.

More than one venue

Choose All my venues and one connection works for all of them. Say “switch to Bite Place” in the chat. Or say “at Bite Place, which dishes have burrata?” Ask “which venues do I have?” to see the list.

Every answer starts with “Venue:” and the name, so you know which venue it is about. If two names fit, the assistant asks you which one. If you lose access to a venue, the assistant cannot use it. It does not move to another venue on its own.

Good to know

  • On the Essential and Plus plans. On a lower plan, your assistant cannot use your venue. Your keys and connections are kept, and they work again when you move up.
  • ChatGPT needs a paid plan. You also turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT first. ChatGPT often changes its menus, so the names can be a little different.
  • You approve changes. You get a Telegram message with Apply and Cancel. No Telegram? The request waits in the Waiting for you tab on API & connectors.
  • A key is for one venue. Only a sign-in connection can switch venue.
  • Disconnect an app. On the Connect tab, under AI apps you connected, press Disconnect on the app. It stops at once. If you remove an app and add it again, it shows two times. Disconnect the old one.
  • Who sees the activity. Owners see all the AI activity at their venue. Other people see only their own. The BiteTheMenu team’s checks do not show at your venue.
  • Lose a key? Press Revoke on its row. It stops at once.
  • Choose what a key or an app may do. Press Permissions on its row. It never does more than you can. For a connected app like ChatGPT, your choice works on all your venues.
  • Limits. A key can make 30 calls a minute and 1,000 a day. A sign-in connection has the same limits for each venue.
  • It can ask our AI. Your assistant can send a question to our AI. Our AI knows your notes and your rules, and it looks at your data. Each question uses the AI credits of the venue it works on, about the same as one Telegram reply. You can read every question and answer in the Activity tab. To stop it for a key or an app, turn off Ask our AI in Permissions.
  • It can read your kitchen. Your assistant can read your ingredients and what each one costs. It can read the prices of each supplier and your orders to them. It can read your recipes and the food cost of each recipe. These tools only read. They change nothing. It sees only what your role can see.
  • It can make events. Your assistant can make a new event. It can change it, add a photo from your Library, and put it on your website. You approve each step. A new event is always a draft first. Guests see it only after you approve a second time, to put it live. Only owners and managers can do this. Tickets, the line-up and videos stay in the app.
  • New photos come through a link. Your assistant cannot take a photo from the chat. Ask it for an upload link. Open the link on your phone and pick photos or videos. They go into your Library. The link works for 30 minutes. Then tell your assistant you sent them. It can put a photo on a dish, an event or your website. You approve that step.
  • A new tool can start off. Did you change Permissions for an app or a key before? Then a new tool is off for it. Turn it on there.
  • ChatGPT keeps a list of tools. If it does not know about switching, remove the connector and add it again.
  • Only owners and managers can create keys.
  • A venue key keeps working when people leave. An owner can make a key that belongs to the venue, not to a person. In Acts as, pick The venue, as Manager (or another role). The key can do what that role can do here. When you change the role, the key changes too. Its changes wait for an owner in the Waiting for you tab. Use it for an app, like a Google Sheet.
