Adding a competitor — one name is enough

You only ever give Nina one thing. She goes and finds the rest herself — you never paste a second link.

How it works

  1. In Growth → Competitors, type the name into Find a competitor by name the way you’d say it out loud, and pick them from the list.
  2. A Reviews to pull on first fetch row lets you choose 50, 100 or 200. More reviews take longer but give the analysis more to work with; 100 is a good default.
  3. Nina works in front of you — finding them on the map, reading their reviews, setting up the daily watch — and the new card appears below when she’s done. If something fails she says what and offers to try again.

When a name search can’t find them, use the quiet Add by Instagram or Facebook instead link underneath:

  • By Instagram — the username without the @. Add an optional label (“Gaggan Anand”) if the handle isn’t readable.
  • By Facebook — paste the Page URL from your browser’s address bar. This is the one to reach for in Thailand and the rest of Southeast Asia, where many family-run places are Facebook-active and barely on Instagram.

Good to know

  • Nina’s suggestions open with data already in them. Pick one from her list and the card usually has their rating, review count and menu the moment it appears — she has read them before, for somebody else. Only a place nobody has ever looked at makes you wait the half-minute.
  • Adding somebody you already watch is refused, kindly. She’ll say so and point you at their existing card, however you reached them — by name, by a pasted link, or off her own list.
  • The Facebook URL must be a Page with a name in it, like facebook.com/peppina31. A personal profile — the kind that looks like facebook.com/profile.php?id=1000933… — can’t be read, and the form will stop you and explain.
  • Adding by one channel doesn’t lock you in. Open View detail later and attach the others; the daily refresh then covers all of them.
  • Your plan’s limit counts competitors, not channels. A competitor with Instagram, Google, Facebook and a menu still uses one slot.
  • If you’re at your limit, the add is refused with an explanation. Remove somebody first, or move up a plan.
