Home page builder

By default your home page is generated for you: a hero photo from your menu and a rail of recommended dishes. It works, but it’s the same shape as everyone else’s.

The rule

Add one block and your custom page replaces the automatic one. Remove them all and the automatic version comes back. Nothing here is permanent.

The seven blocks

  • 🌅 Hero — the big banner: headline, optional subhead, background image or video, optional button.
  • 🖼️ Image — one photo, full-width or centred with rounded corners.
  • 🎬 Video — a short clip with an optional caption.
  • 🎞️ Carousel — images and clips that rotate on their own.
  • ⭐ Featured menu items — dishes you pick, as a grid of cards.
  • 📝 Text section — a heading and a paragraph. Your story, an announcement, a press quote.
  • 📣 Call-to-action banner — a headline and one button: “Book a table”, “Call us”, “See the menu”.

How to use it

  1. Open Settings → Public Surface → Home page.
  2. + Add block, pick a type. It appears at the bottom of the list ready to edit.
  3. Fill it in, then drag to reorder.
  4. Hide anything that isn’t ready rather than deleting it — a hidden block keeps its content and stops rendering.
  5. Save.

Good to know

  • Visitors see blocks in your order, top to bottom, with hidden ones skipped.
  • A hero video is usually stronger than a hero photo, but keep it short and silent — it autoplays muted.
  • Featured dishes pull live from your menu, so a dish you hide from the menu disappears from the home page too.
