Reading and replying to Google reviews
The Recent reviews card shows your five newest — stars, how long ago, and the review. Click one to read it in full and get the reply tools.
How it works
- Click See all N reviews to expand the card and get the filter row: All / Unreplied / Replied, plus star-rating chips. Use Unreplied to triage.
- Can’t read a review? Press Translate under it. The button only appears where a translation would actually help — a review already in your language doesn’t get one, unless you’ve set a second language in your venue’s settings, in which case it offers that. Press Show original to switch back.
- Press Reply on any review, then Draft reply. You get a reply written the way you write — it reads the replies you’ve already published on Google and copies their length, tone and sign-off.
- Edit the draft until it sounds right, press Copy, then Open on Google and paste it into the reply box there.
Good to know
- Their language / English next to Draft reply decides what the reply is written in. The default answers people in the language they wrote to you.
- The first draft for a venue that has never replied is generic — it says so. Once your replies are on Google, the next ones follow your style.
- A translation is paid for once and then kept: reading it again, or a colleague reading it, costs nothing.
- Set a second language under your venue’s language settings and English reviews gain a Translate button into it — handy for showing the floor team what a review said.
- Replying to everything is the cheapest thing you can do for your listing — that’s the Response rate tile.
- Reviews sync nightly, so a reply you paste this morning shows here tomorrow with a green replied badge.
- Rating distribution and Reviewer mix sit below: the star spread, and the share of reviewers who are Google Local Guides (30–50% is healthy). A Seasoned reviewers line counts those with 50+ reviews of their own.
